Finance should operate for the common good – deliberately seeking to benefit society and the environment.

A more positive approach is developing: instead of merely avoiding investment in the arms, tobacco, or fossil fuel industries, some financial institutions are providing for the common good – investing in businesses, projects and activities that have a clear benefit for other people or the planet such as fair pay or zero carbon dioxide emissions.
